Korda Basix Weigh Sling

"The BASIX Weigh Sling (along with the Basix Cradle) is perfect for juniors; anglers new to the sport; those on a budget; casual anglers; and anyone who simply doesn't want to spend a lot of money, to ensure that safe fishing is a priority, but not compromised.

NOTE: The BASIX Weigh Sling MUST NOT be used as a retainer.

This is a traditional weigh sling but with some added features, designed to allow you to safely transfer fish from the water to your unhooking mat, and vice versa, and to weigh them - it is not a retainer and cannot be safely used for that purpose. This sling is made from durable nylon. It has strong, lightweight powder-coated two-piece metal rods at the top, to give rigidity and to make the weighing process safer for the fish. When the sling is not in use, the rods can simply be split down the middle - they are elasticated - and the sling can be folded away into the compact stink bag that is supplied (when folded the sling will fit into the Basix Cradle unhooking mat or the outer pocket of a Compac Rod Hol-dall). A strong tension strap is attached to the rods on each side and ensures good balance once they are attached to the hook of your scales, allowing the fish to be weighed safely. The bag features large drainage holes in the base, so water drains quickly when you remove the fish in your rolled up landing net from the bag and bring it to the unhooking mat. A good quality, free-running zip at both ends of the sling ensures the fish cannot slip out during transport or weighing, and is easy to set up and release. The carrying strap is designed to float, so the fish and rolled up net can be easily transferred into the water - this eliminates the need to lift the net, reducing the risk of splitting or damaging the fins and tail.
